Molecular Formula
C14H12O3
Molecular Weight
228.24
Purity
≥ 98% (HPLC)
Appearance
Solid
Solubility
Approximately 50 mg/mL in DMSO or DMF; <0.1 mg/mL in PBS at pH 7.2. Prepare aqueous dilutions fresh.
Stability
Light-sensitive. Stable near neutral pH when completely protected from light; do not store aqueous working solutions for more than one day.

cis-Resveratrol is the Z stereoisomer of resveratrol, a nonflavonoid stilbene polyphenol. PubChem CID 1548910 identifies the Z-configured structure recorded here. It has been reported in Malus species, Botrytis cinerea, and other organisms, and can also form by photoisomerization of trans-resveratrol. In vitro studies have evaluated its antioxidant and inflammatory-signaling activity, inhibition of platelet aggregation, and antiviral activity against coxsackievirus B3 (IC50 12.2 µM) and enterovirus 71 (IC50 37.6 µM).
